Greensboro, NC -- A grand jury indicted a Greensboro man on charges related to the burning of a puppy.
Lashawn Whitehead was indicted on a charge of cruelty to animals and burning personal property.
Whitehead turned himself into police in November.
Someone found the dog, Susie, in Greenfield Park in Greensboro in August 2009.
She had burns on 60 percent of her body and was burned over the majority of her head. Her ears were almost completely burned off. Susie also had burns on her back and belly.
Susie now has a new home with Donna Lawrence. She goes to work with Lawrence at The Kutting Edge and helps greet clients.
