Greensboro, NC -- A second multi-vehicle crash on I-40 eastbound Sunday killed one woman and caused other critical injuries.
It happened around 11:25 p.m. Sunday in the same area as a similar fatal crash that happened earlier in the day. Greensboro police say the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt ran into the back of a semi-trailer.
The car's driver, who police haven't identified, suffered critical injuries and was transported to Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Matthew Warren, 24, was a passenger in the back seat of the car and also sustained critical injuries. He was also taken to Moses Cone. Latisha Jones, 26, of Greensboro, was in the front seat of the car and died on the scene, police say.
The crash is still under investigation. Traffic flow on I-40 eastbound between High Point Road and Freeman Mill Road was narrowed down to one lane after the crash.
