Greensboro, NC -- Supporters of tougher penalties for animal cruelty are headed to Raleigh Tuesday to support Susie's Law.
The bill is named after a dog found beaten, burned and left to die in a Greensboro park last summer.
The state House is scheduled to review the bill at 10:00 Tuesday morning.
Lashawn Whitehead was sentenced to six to eight months in prison for burning personal property.
He won't serve any jail time for the cruelty to animals charge.
Supporters of Susie's Law will meet at 7:00am Tuesday at the Guilford County Animal Shelter to caravan to Raleigh.
