Virginia-- Who ever said you can't teach an old man new tricks, hadn't met Jack Woolley, 83 of Machipongo, VA! The World War II veteran found a use for his laptop that the computer generation probably hadn't thought of...until now.

So what did he do when a Tornado ripped through his area demolishing his home with him inside? Woolley said he used his connection to the world to shield himself, by holding the laptop computer over his head.

According to the Salisbury Daily Times, Woolley use of his laptop got the attention of Dell.  Dell told the paper they're outfitting him with a computer system that will be the envy of his neighbors. The company has already has sent him a new printer, and a new Dell laptop with all the accessories will be arriving in about a week, said Woolley

Sarah Richardson with Dell social media communications told the newspaper they are glad he is okay.

The laptop shield is the talk of Northampton County. An elementary school in the area had a tornado drill days after the tornado... and they put their laptops on their heads during the drill.

His daughter said that Dell representatives want a picture of Woolley holding the new Dell laptop when it arrives they'd like to frame it and hang it at Dell headquarters.
