Davidson County, NC -- A man reaching for his cell phone caused a wreck on Interstate 85, according to the NC Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened about 7:45 a.m. on I-85 south near the Lake Road exit in Thomasville.
Trooper Kelly Britt said a man driving a tan Ford Taurus said he was reaching for the phone when he drifted into the other lane and hit the back of a car.

The other car was a red Toyota driven by Raymond Hodges, Jr. of Greensboro. There were two passengers in his car. One passenger, a 15-year-old, was thrown from the car. The teenager was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
Investigators said the wreck spun the Toyota around and both cars ran off the left side of the road. The Taurus crossed back over the interstate and flipped.
The names of the others involved weren't immediately available.
