Guilford County, NC -- Some local teens got what you could call "positive reinforcement" for buckling up.

It's teen-driving month. So to encourage seatbelt use, State Farm Insurance had a surprise for students at Northern Guilford High School: $400 cash. Each student who wore their seatbelt after school - got a dollar.

State Farm Agent John Klopp said the visit was about more than just the money. He said it was all about getting them to think more seriously about being safe on the road. "Its really important to get them at this time when they're in high school and stress the importance of being alert, watching the distractions, which are greater today than they have ever been, and wearing your seatbelt."

Another element to staying safe behind the wheel, is hanging up the phone. You can still sign the Great Hang Up Pledge by clicking here.
