Greensboro, NC -- Millions of Americans will spend billions of dollars on-line Monday, on what has become the busiest on-line shopping day of the year.
With the click of your mouse, you are expected to surf, find on-line deals and leave your credit card information to make purchases.
Kevin Hinterberger, with the Better Business Bureau's Central North Carolina office says that you need to be diligent before you purchase.
He says make sure your best deal is really on-line, that the site you are on is reputable and most of all that if you are giving your credit card information, make sure you are on a secure site.
How can you tell? He says make sure the web address begins with "https" and that at the end of the address bar there is a lock. You can click on the lock to get more information on the site's security practice. He also says some sites turn their address bar green to show they are secure.
Hinterberger says you also want to read the fine print to make sure that if there is a problem or a need for a return, you understand the terms.
