Greensboro, NC -- As families finalize funeral arrangements this week for five kids killed in a shooting rampage, a woman who knew one of the victims has found a way to help herself and others cope while raising money.
Gena Pagano's son played baseball with one of the victims, 15-year-old Zachary "Zack" Smith.
Pagano came up with an idea to make and sell memorial t-shirts to the community.
Each t-shirt cost $15. Five dollars is the profit from each shirt.
Half of that will go to the families of the victims and the rest will go towards starting a memorial scholarship fund.
So far, Pagano has raised $1,550 from 310 t-shirts.
"I just thought that represented, Southeast, the community mourning all of our friends and just to be strong and to remember all the victims," said Pagano.
A printing company will have the t-shirts ready by Friday.
Gena Pagano has ordered 60 extra shirts just in case she needs more.
She is taking orders online through a facebook page and her email address.
Police say Mary Ann Holder shot and killed her own two sons, her son's girlfriend, and her niece and nephew.
The community is coming together to put on a benefit concert for the victims on Saturday, December 3rd.
The concert will be held from 6pm to 10pm at Bridge of Hope Church located at 4104 Short Farm Road in Greensboro.
The event is free. Organizers are just asking for donations. All proceeds will go to Pleasant Garden Baptist Church which has started a fund for the victims' families.
