Greensboro, NC - Get ready to make a difference for the American Cancer Society. Local cosmetologists and barbers are hosting the Black Tie Hair Affair Gala on December 11th.
They're joining hair products company, Influance to raise money for cancer research.
Wilbert Artis is co-owner of Influance. He joined WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain to explain how you can take part in the special night as well.
The night includes guest speaker Meleshia Daye who is a Stage 4 Breast Cancer Survivor. You might remember Daye recently married her husband in front of News 2 cameras. The "Many Faces of Cancer Walk" includes a tribute to those who died from cancer or are surviving the disease. Survivors will also model hair styles provided by the stylists in attendance. Tracey McCain is the honored emcee.
A portion of the proceeds raised goes to the American Cancer Society. You can purchase tickets by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or stopping by various hair salons in the Triad area.
The gala is Sunday, December 11th at 6:00pm at the NC A&T Alumni Foundation Event Center in Greensboro. The cost is $60 for an individual and $100 a couple. You can buy tickets through December 4th.
