Greensboro Man Charged In Bus Crash Taken To Virginia Jail

Richmond, VA - Zhao Jian Chen, the Sky Express bus dispatcher facing charges related to a bus crash that killed four passengers, was extradited to a Virginia jail on Thursday.

Chen is in the Pamunkey Regional Jail and is scheduled to appear in Caroline County Circuit Court Wednesday for a hearing on four charges of involuntary manslaughter.

Chen waived extradition on March 1st and Virginia law enforcement officials had until Saturday to pick him up.

The Free Lance Star Reports Chen is accused of ordering bus driver Kin Yiu Cheung to drive the Sky Bus Express on May 31 even though he told Chen he was too tired to drive.

Cheung told police he fell asleep before the wreck that occured around 5 am that morning in Caroline County.

The crash led to the death of four people, Karen Blyden-Decastro, 46, of Cambria Heights, N.Y., Sie Giok Gian, 63, of Philadelphia, Josefa Torres, 78, of Jamaica, N.Y., and Denny Estefany Martinez, 25, of Jersey City, N.J.

Cheung is also charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter and has a May 2 court date.
