Buffalo, NY -- Nik Wallenda is the first person to successfully walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope.

Wallenda walked 1,800 in under 26 minutes while carrying a 40 pound balancing pole on Friday night.

Throughout the day people questioned if Wallenda would remove his safety harness while attempting the walk. The harness was worn the whole time, but Wallenda acknowledged fans by taking a knee and then running the remaining stretch of wire.

When he made it to the other side, Canadian Border Agents asked Wallenda to present his passport!

An estimated 125,000 people gathered to watch on the Canadian side and about 4,000 watched Wallenda on the American side.

Nik Wallenda is a seventh generation family member of the "Flying Wallendas."
