Columbia, SC-- A church sign's message targets a clinic and a particular service it offers. The Pastor of the church is also claiming the clinic targets a specific race of women.

The sign reads: "Ultimate Racism: Abortionists Target Black Babies." The pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church said it's meant to educate people about abortion and who the clinics target.

Patrick Dye, the Pastor of the church told WIS Television that he can't let the issue be someone else's problem. He said he believes abortion is a crime of America.

The sign was put out last Thursday. Dye said his targets include Planned Parenthood, but isn't limited to them. Dye said he believes agencies like Planned Parenthood purposely locates in minority communities.

The specific Planned Parenthood clinic Dye is talking about is located at the edge of a white community, but is within walking distance of a housing project.

Dye assumes the clinic's location is in part responsible for attracting African-American patients.

A Planned Parenthood spokesperson told WIS, that the average patient is a white female between the ages of 18-24 who is looking for birth control. They say race is not a factor and they don't intentionally target black babies.

Planned Parenthood says it tries to provide affordable and accessible health care and because of that, has clinics in many low-income areas.

In the last 5 years, Dye said he's had about 12 abortion-related messages on his church sign.
