Undated -- Caleb Paynter is only two, but looks older thanks in part to a very rare disease. He has Cockayne Syndrome type two. There are only 60 known cases in the world.
So thanks to the generosity of people like you, the Paynters raised the money to make the trip, and were even surprised with a trip to Disneyland!
They're going to Santa Ana, California for a retreat specifically for Cockayne Syndrome kids.
Caleb's family said they're exited to meet others who are going through the same thing they are. "It's nice to know that you're not in the battle, I guess you could say, alone. It's a great experience to get to be with other kids thats going through the same thing you are, to have the confidence to help you do the same thing."
Caleb's mom says the doctors will try to meet with each child individually to see what hey can do to try to meet the needs of kids with Cockayne Syndrome.
The family also got 5 day-passes to go to Disneyland -- which excited the whole family. But mom, Jennifer, also acknowledged that their trip wouldn't have been possible without the help of strangers in the community. "It would have been impossible without everybody coming together. We are so grateful. Words aren't enough to say thank you."
We'll continue to get updates on the Paynter's trip and share them with you.
