  • Asheboro, NC - The Randolph County DSS miscalculated funds for child care subsidies and now 600 children may lose their child care.

"We're looking at any possibility that might be out there. Foundations, grants, corporate sponsorships. Any idea that anyone suggests, we're immediately researching and moving forward to support whatever efforts our child care directors have underway," Randolph County Partnership for Children Executive Director Pauline McKee said.

Parents will start receiving notices in November. The money will dry up on December 1. Some child care workers will also likely lose their jobs as well. Now, the Randolph County Partnership for Children is trying to ease some of the stress and strain on families.

"We can't walk away. These are our families. These are our children," Child Care Center Owner Melissa Brown said. "It's hurting us because the children are part of us. They are our family."

You can contribute a donation to the organization and the partnership will ensure 100% of your contribution will go to help the families and children who need it most.
