Greensboro, NC -- Hundreds of residents met with Mayor Robbie Perkins Monday to learn about the future of east Greensboro and the city as a whole.
Councilmembers T. Dianne Bellamy-Small and Jim Kee joined the mayor at the "East Greensboro Summit" in the Dudley High School Auditorium.
Perkins discussed Greensboro and said the key to the city's future success lies in all parts of Greensboro coming together, rather than living as separate cities.
He also discussed the importance of economic development in the eastern part of Greensboro. He recognized the need for grocery stores, places to eat and more businesses in that part of the city. He said he and the city council will need to do more to create an environment that makes more businesses want to come to the area.
