(Kernersville, NC)  --  On October, 29, 2012, a Kernersville police officer driving through the Walmart parking lot was flagged down by employees and told that there was a young adult white male inside firing a large caliber handgun.

The KPD, with the help of the FCSD and the WSPD, evacuated and locked down the store trying to find victims or suspects, to no avail.  It was determined that the suspect left the scene prior to be locked down.

Further investigation led detectives to a residence on Old Hollow Road where they found the suspect, 20-year-old, Justin Ross Murphy and arrested him.

Ross is charged with shooting into an occupied property, carrying a concealed weapon, going armed to terror of the public and malicious injury to property.  He was placed in the Forsyth County Detention center under a $4,000 secured bond.  A preliminary hearing is set for November 16th in Winston-Salem.
