Greensboro, NC - Governor McCrory is in Greensboro Tuesday as a part of a five city state tour, and he isn't waisting anytime following up on a campaign pledge to make our state government smaller and what he views as more efficient.

Governor McCory's first executive order as Governor was to eliminate a commission put in place by Governor Perdue to appoint judges.

The Governor says he will use executive powers to appoint judges instead.

Governor McCrory has a long list of campaign pledges to follow-up on, including lower taxes, a voter ID bill, and potential right to work legislation.

Republican's control the General Assembly and the Governor's Office for the first time since 1870, so many campaign promises could turn into law very quickly.

Governor McCrory told News 2 his first priority as Governor will be to pay down our state's debt, saying, "We do not have a balanced budget, regardless of what the politicians say. As I look at the books, we owe 2.8 billion dollars to the federal government for unemployment compensation."
