Greensboro, NC-- Boston crews are already struggling to keep up with the snow. The city is expecting some of the highest snow fall totals from the blizzard.
WFMY News 2 spoke with two people living near Boston.
Jackie Fernandez's sister Sarah Fernandez, a registered nurse, and Hannah Brenner, a teacher, say the wind was really picking up in the early evening.
"We're used to having tough skin for the storms here in Massachusetts," Brenner said. "But this one is unique. With the high winds and the crazy snow drifts, this is something different for us."
Earlier in the day, they saw empty shelves at the super market as shoppers stocked up ahead of the storm.
