Tuesday night's State of the Union Speech will be tweeted and shared on social media sites like never before as the White House adapts strategies used during the President's re-election campaign to push his agenda as President.

The President's former campaign, Obama for America, has been converted into a nonprofit grouped called "Organizing for Action", and the organization will be holding watch parties across the country encouraging supporters to Tweet and Facebook the President's speech.

Organizing for Action is just a piece of the social media blitz the White House is pushing. The White House will host a sort of Twitter town hall at the White House with administration officials answering Tweets during the speech, and President Obama is set to attend a Google Plus hangout after his address.

In his speech, the President is expected to focus primarily on the economy. Elon University Assistant Professor Jason Husser told News 2 to expect the President to come out swinging, saying, "This will not be a flowery speech. He will aggressively push proposals he wants to see Congress push through like gun control and tax reform."

Coverage of the State of the Union begins at 9:00 pm on News 2.
