Shots Fired at Car on I-77, Driver in Critical Condition

Columbia, SC -- Richland County deputies are investigating a shooting on I-77 in South Carolina early Sunday.

Deputies say the shooting occured around 2:20 a.m. on I-77 near Forest Drive. Officers found a vehicle that had been shot at on the 1600 block of Decker Blvd. 

Investigators say someone shot the driver multiple times. EMS transported him to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where he is in critical condition.

Deputies say the female passenger in the car was unharmed. She was unable to provide any information about the incident because she was asleep when the shooting happened.
