Greensboro, NC-- Monday, the city of Greensboro announced that they have agreed to allow Duke Energy to resume tree trimming activities around power lines by the end of February.
The trimming is designated to only customer-requested work and maintenance of overhead facilities. This type of vegetation management is unrelated to routine maintenance trimming around distribution lines.
As defined by Duke Energy:
Customer-requested work is tree trimming that includes construction projects where new service lines are requested or projects where lines need to be relocated.
Maintenance of overhead equipment: includes changing out poles that are damaged or rotten, transformers, or other pole-mounted equipment.
