There was a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. Tuesday to honor Katlin at the crash site. Roughly, 100 people showed up.
Family, friends, and members from North Davidson Middle School, where Katlin was a former student brought flowers, candles, and stuffed animals.
Jason Bates, Katlin's father said, "I just like to ask folks just to think before they get impaired and want to drive, just think because it cost my 14-year-old girl her life."
Both her parents told News 2's Liz Crawford that her six younger siblings can't understand why their big sister won't be coming home.
"Right now, I feel, I have an empty hole. It's like my heart's been ripped out. It'll never be filled," said Vickie Litteral, Katlin's mother.
If you could like to help Katlin's family cover the sudden expense of her funeral cost, please contact her grandmother, Angie Bates at (336) 752-2795.
