Winston-Salem, NC -- After several car break-ins and home invasions, Wake Forest University will increase campus security, a school official said in a recent email.
Most of the crimes happened off-campus, and some involved weapons, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
Ken Zick, vice president of student affairs, sent the email to students, faculty and staff Feb. 25.
Due to the increase in crime, the school is adding security to patrol certain parking lots and dorms on the north side of campus. Meanwhile, Winston-Salem police will increase patrols in some off-campus areas.
Zick says the university is responding to all concerns from students and their families about campus safety.
