Greensboro, NC -- Family and friends gathered to say goodbye today to four-year-old Aurora Barefoot.
She died Thursday night in a freak occurrence in Randolph County. Just seconds after her mom placed her safely on the side of the road, a car that was not in park ran her over.
Today her grandfather spoke to WFMY News 2 about the girl he called "Princess Aurora." "She was our little princess. She wanted to go by Princess Aurora. She'd come over to the house and she'd put on a dress and her tiara and get into some high-heeled shoes and just play around."
What the family has, and shared at her funeral, are the memories of this happy little girl who fell victim to the unexplainable.
Police haven't filed any charges in this accident.
Aurora's family expressed how grateful they were for the outpouring of support from the community.
