Flooded streets in Thomasville July 11, 2013.
Thomasville, NC -- Rain, rain and more rain is taking its toll on streets in one Triad city.
Thursday, Davidson County 911 responded to multiple calls of flooding throughout the city. Emergency responders were called to help with traffic patrol as many streets became impassable.
A 911 telecommunicator said the flooding calls all came from rain that started Wednesday night into Thursday morning. City Manager Kelly Craver tells WFMY that Randolph Street and Carolina Avenue remain closed from flooding. Craver said Hamby Creek is the cause of flooding in that area of the city.
City crews had to help one person out of their flooded vehicle this morning, he said. The city has also received several reports from homeowners about high water in their area.
Streets where flooding was reported include:
- National Highway
- Fisher Ferry
- Maiden Park
More rain is expected across the Triad into next week. The entire WFMY News 2 area is under a Flood Watch until Friday.
