Burlington, NC -- After hearing about Tina Byrd's journey as a double amputee, the owner of Bridal Mart in Burlington wanted to make sure Tina had the right dress for her wedding day.
WFMY News 2 met Tina Byrd in 2008. She was in a car wreck on a church bus trip. She got out of the bus to help people in the other car when another car hit Tina, severing her legs.
Since then, Tina hasn't let anything stop her from living life to the fullest. In fact, in February, she got engaged to be married.

Janet Duncan, the owner of Bridal Mart in Burlington, saw Tina's story on WFMY News 2 on Valentine's Day and wanted to be a part of Tina's big day.
"We saw the segment on News 2, and it was very emotional. It just touched my heart and when I came to work the next day, some of the other girls here had seen it also and we started talking about it and how amazing Tina was--just her personality and how something horrible didn't make her bitter," said Duncan.
Bridal Mart offered Tina a special rate on her wedding gown and alterations. She found the perfect dress and she intends to keep it full length. Tina and her fiancé decided that she'll sit on a stool at the aisle so the entire gown will be shown off.
"The excitement of being able to actually you know, I'm going to sit on a stool so I can actually have a full wedding dress to actually you know think about being Cinderella for the day," said Byrd.
