Greensboro, Winston-Salem Join Trayvon Martin Rallies Across The Country

Greensboro, NC -- Hundreds of protesters gathered in downtown Greensboro and Winston-Salem to urge the U.S. Department of Justice to try George Zimmerman on federal charges.

Thousands of people nationwide responded to Rev. Al Sharpton's call to participate in the "Justice for Trayvon" National Day of Vigils Saturday.

Each vigil was to be hosted at federal buildings in cities across the country. Protesters in 100 cities set out to urge the federal justice system to press charges against George Zimmerman.

Greensboro leaders hosted the city's event at the Greensboro Federal Court building on W. Market St. Winston-Salem protesters gathered at Union Baptist Church on Trade Street to rally in honor of Trayvon Martin.
