Woman Charged After Prescription Drugs Found In House

Lexington, NC -- Narcotics officers with the Davidson County Sheriff's Office charged a woman Monday will having illegal prescription drugs.

The charges were filed after the Vice/Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant on Monica Hall Cassar at her house on Jersey Church Road in Lexington. Detectives said during the search, officers seized 85.5 Opana pills (Oxymorphone), five Oxycodone pills, six Suboxone patches, 24 Xanax pills, a .38 caliber handgun, $990 in cash and drug paraphernalia items.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized from the residence is $4,000.

Cassar was arrested on the scene and charged with Trafficking Opiates (Oxymorphone), three counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver, Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Cassar was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
