Greensboro, NC -- A pedestrian was killed early Saturday morning by a driver off of US 220 in Greensboro.
Police said the woman was exiting US 220 N onto I-40 W around 5:35 am when she hit the pedestrian.
Investigators said the woman tried to avoid the pedestrian as she went around the curve of the ramp in her 1996 Chrysler Concorde, but was unsuccessful.
The pedestrian, whose identity will not been released until her family is notified, was pronounced dead at the location of the accident by Guilford County EMS.
Police are investigating this accident. It is not clear if charges are being filed against the driver.
