NELSON COUNTY, Va. -- A Nelson County judge has denied bond for abduction-suspect Randy Taylor.

WDBJ reported the ruling was made in court Thursday afternoon.

Taylor is accused of abducting 17-year-old Alexis Murphy, who hasn't been seen since August 3. Taylor's attorney, Michael Hallahan, told WDBJ his client wasn't the last person seen with Murphy.

Hallahan alleges Murphy saw Taylor smoking marijuana last month at a car wash where he worked. He said the two saw each other again August 3 at a gas station. The two spoke about marijuana and Taylor asked her if she could find him a drug dealer, according to the attorney. He told WDBJ that a black man and Murphy went to Taylor's home and left after the man sold Taylor marijuana.

Hallahan claimed in court Thursday that evidence against his client wasn't enough to justify the abduction charge.

Taylor waived his right to a preliminary hearing, according to WDBJ. The case will go to a grand jury September 26.
