Danville Police Looking For Answers In Two Shootings

DANVILLE, V.A. -- Danville Police say they are investigating the events surrounding the shootings of two people early Sunday morning.

Officers say they responded to Danville Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department at 3:45 a.m. and found a 34-year-old man who had been shot in the leg.

Two minutes later, police told WFMY News 2 they responded to the 700 block of Melville Avenue after receiving a call about shots being fired in the area. Upon arrival, they found a 38 year-old Pittsylvania County man who had been shot in the head. The man was then transported to Danville Regional for treatment.

Danville Police tell WFMY News 2 it has not been determined at this time if the two shootings are related.

The investigation is ongoing.
