Arctic High Pressure Controls Our Weather

GREENSBORO, NC-- Arctic high pressure will continue to build over the East Coast today through Saturday. It will bring sunshine and rather cold temperatures along with brisk winds today. A cold front will bring a chance of rain Sunday night and early Monday. Another blast of very cold, Arctic air will pour into the Piedmont for Monday night through Wednesday.

Today will be sunny, windy and cold with high temperatures only a degree or two above freezing. Winds will be brisk and out of the northwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts to near 25 mph. This will produce wind chills in the teens through this evening. The winds will relax overnight and under a clear sky the low will drop to near 17. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 40. Cloud will increase Saturday night with a low of 30. 

Sunday will be generally cloudy with a high of 45. There is a slight of light freezing rain or drizzle early in the day. Otherwise measure rainfall will hold off until Sunday night and early Monday morning. This rain will be

out ahead of the next Arctic cold front that will bring even colder air into the Piedmont for Monday night through Wednesday.

Tuesday morning lows will be in the mid teens with highs only reaching the mid and upper 20's on Tuesday. It will be sunny on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Our normal low is 30 and our normal high is 48.
