GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A Triad nonprofit is seeking help from the community after a frozen pipe burst Thursday, damaging their donated items they give to children in need.
Parker White, founder of BackPack Beginnings tells WFMY News 2 the pipe burst because of the cold temperatures, and it flooded the facility.
White said more than a thousand books were ruined, a large portion of stuffed animals, school supplies, and children's clothes were also soaked by the leaking water.
Because of the damage, the organization is calling on the community for help in replacing these items. The agency has filed an insurance claim, but anyone interested in donating is asked to contact him at (336) 709-9649, White said.
All donations will help BackPack Beginnings recover their inventory from the flooding.
