It appears the Target breach may have started before Black Friday and some people are just now getting notices from Target saying they've been compromised.
As computer experts dig into the malware used to breach Target's security systems, they are learning it wasn't just that time-frame from Black Friday to mid-December. According to a Forbes report, data from years ago could be impacted by this breach too. If you've ever shopped at Target, your best bet is to sign up for Target's free credit monitoring.
The Attorney General is warning to NOT click on any links on any
emails. Instead go straight to Target's main site. It is free for the first year. You'll need to set a reminder to cancel the service after the first year. You also need to keep checking your credit and debit accounts, as well as your credit report.
