GREENSBORO, N.C. --High pressure centered over the deep south will result in a mostly sunny and mid day. A strong Arctic cold front will move across the area early Tuesday and bring much below normal temperatures For Wednesday through Friday.
With the abundant sunshine, the high today will reach near 60. Tonight, clouds will increase after midnight wit a low of 33.
Tuesday as the arctic front moves in, clouds will continue to thicken. the high temperature should reach around 40 by late morning, but temperatures will crash during the afternoon as the cold, Arctic air moves in. We will see a 40% chance of rain and snow showers in the afternoon. The mixed precipitation will likely change over to all snow before ending during the evening. some light accumulations are possible. A dusting to .5" or possible in the metro Triad and around 1" along the Virginia boarder and the Northern Foothills. Later Tuesday night will be clear and very cold with a low of 17. Single digit wind chills are possible overnight.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny and Thursday will be partly cloudy. the high Wednesday will be 28 and 34 on Thursday.
