WFMY News 2's Chief Meteorologist Grant Gilmore says the forecast is on track for light rain to transition over to snow later in the evening Tuesday. The Triad will see anywhere between a dusting-0.75". Greater amounts up to 1.5" will be possible to the northeast.

Morning low temperatures Wednesday will be near 14, with wind chills in the single digits. Lingering moisture from Tuesday night's light rain and snow will freeze and cause icy spots Wednesday morning. Cautious travel is recommended as black ice is expected.
