GREENSBORO, N.C. -- There are new flights from Piedmont Triad International Airport to LaGuardia Airport.
PTI said Monday these non-stop flights will begin April 1. The additional flights are a result of the merger between American Airlines and U.S. Airways.
Only one flight will go out Saturdays, but American Airlines will make three daily trips to LaGuardia the rest of the week.
A PTI spokesperson said they plan to keep flights to D.C., but are not sure if there will be any scheduling changes.
American Airlines and U.S. Airways voted to merge in February 2013; the DOJ approved it in November and the merger was complete in December.
The two airlines began sharing frequent-flier miles earlier this month. On Jan. 23, U.S. Airways started selling tickets for flights operated by American Airlines.
