GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Several passengers were injured in two separate accidents Thursday involving Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) buses. Police said weather was not a factor in either collision.
The first accident happened around 11:25 a.m. on Huffine Mill Road near E. Wendover Avenue. Police said a van ran the stop sign at that intersection and collided with the front side of the bus. GTA officials tell WFMY News 2 that eight people were on the bus and seven of them were treated for injuries. The driver of the car was also treated.
The second accident happened about an hour later at 12:25 p.m. at the intersection of Holts Chapel Road and Franklin Blvd. Police say a car hit the bus from behind as it was leaving a bus stop at that intersection.
Seven people were on the bus and one was treated for minor injuries.
