GREENSBORO, NC-- A cold front will approach and move south of the area Monday. A couple of low pressure waves will track northeast along the front and bring rain and/or drizzle through Wednesday. Another system will bring a chance of precipitation late Friday and Saturday.

Today will be partly sunny and warm with a high of 63. Clouds will increase and thicken in the late afternoon. Tonight will be cloudy with rain developing especially after midnight. The low will be 43. As the cold front moves south of the area Monday, colder air will filter into the area by a developing northeasterly wind. This means that temperatures will not move upward very much and will likely hold in the low and mid 40's and even fall into the upper 30's late in the day. Monday morning rain will taper off to drizzle during the afternoon.

Monday night and Tuesday will be cloudy. Little of any measurable precipitation is expected through Tuesday afternoon. However. if drizzle does occur late Monday night through Tuesday morning, there will be a brief period of freezing drizzle as the low Tuesday morning will be near 32. The high on Tuesday will only be in the upper 30's.

As the second wave of low pressure approaches, rain will spread back into the Piedmont Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday midday. The low Tuesday night will be 37 with milder temperatures on Wednesday with a high of 57. Thursday will be partly cloudy with a high of 44.

Another system will bring a chance of rain and possible freezing rain late Friday into Saturday. It is much too early to forecast if temperatures will be cold enough for winter precipitation during that period. Stay tuned.

Our normal high is 50, and our normal low is 30.
