High Point, NC -- The Andrews High School Marching Band is Sugar Bowl bound.
The band left Friday at midnight. It will be a 10 to 12 hour drive down to New Orleans.
The 60 students will perform during the pre-game show and at half time. Andrew's band director Ricardo Reid, Sr. says its not only a chance for the students to play, but also a chance to meet potential future bandmates.
"They actually meet with a lot of their peers and they might end up in college with them. And they actually play as a mass band unit."
Last year the band performed in the Cotton Bowl. Hawaii will play Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. The game is on New Year's Day at 7:30p.m.
